Now is the Springtime of my Content
Etsy rabbit holes, the coolest new shirt on the market, exclusive pics of MY ROOM, and more.
Hello! It’s the season of fresh pink jasmine (the only valid kind of jasmine), new sunglasses, wearing leather jackets over prairie dresses, and thanking God every time a single ray of sunshine lands on your frost-marred cheek. Below are some clothing releases or new-to-me stuff I’m excited about this season, a peek at my room and my decorating inspiration so far (involving a circus tent), a sale on my FAVORITE perfume, and more odds and ends. Don’t forget that I still write the Haloscope news report every single week if you’re craving more of my updates! Thank you, as always, for being here.
If you like these posts, please let me know by liking and commenting here or on Esque’s Instagram, subbing to the Esque Substack (this) for free, getting bonus posts for five bucks a month, or for ZERO DOLLARS, share (tag me if on IG so I can see and thank you)! If you share with three friends (or enemies), you’ll automatically get a free month’s subscription to Esque’s paywalled posts. If you buy anything from an Esque link, there’s a chance I’ll earn a percentage commission at no cost to you—if you end up inspired by anything below, please send over a photo of your new togs by replying to this email and I’ll comp you a month of Esque!
If you cannot afford the $5/month, I totally understand—respond to any of my email sends and I will get you a $2 subscription or comp you, whatever you need. Esque is for everyone!
THANK YOU for being here, and I am always available @that.esque on Instagram for sartorial scandals/situations/summons. Here is a little (big, actually, this time) preview of what’s below the paywall:
I audibly screamed when I saw this look by 22 year old Natasha. It’s so compelling. Ten, count ‘em, layers of gingham ruffles (I love ruffles with no gaps), a crooked little pussy bow at the neck, all tucked into a louche leather bomber. The unmade hair and lack of accessories makes this. A perfect two-and-done look. Very James from Twin Peaks experiments with their gender presentation. The perfect spring outfit.
The Cleo Tee ($82) is my most coveted release of the season. From a brand most known for its bags, many of which I’ve featured on Esque, comes a reversible (I’m a sucker for multi-wear, as you know) boat neck-ish tee with three quarter-length sleeves (also my kryptonite) in fine rib cotton. Most days, I just throw on a presentable-ish shirt and jeans for work, and I can see myself reaching for this day after day, switching front and back so as not to appear too stale to repeat customers.
I am a fool for tight shirring, and when I saw Alex Consani in this shirt, I gasped. Unfortunately, the exact one seems to be custom, but Connor Ives’ work is cheeky, comfy-looking, and colorful:
Somehow, the cinched elastic makes the rugby shirt look completely divorced from the formless old navy standbys I gravitate towards. Sculptural, feminine, almost flirty in a charming way.
