This week, we will dive into the wardrobe graciously shared with us by Remy Solomon, TV writer (one of her eps of ALERT: MISSING PERSONS UNIT came out just a few weeks ago) and Tiktoker about town. She has impeccable taste in films (as you can instantly gather from her popular recommendation videos) and is a kind, enthusiastic person who, from what I’ve seen online, knows how to throw (and attend) a great party, a quality I feel is becoming direly rare these days. Below, we’ll consider a handful of fits Remy sent over and I’ll send you on your way with some shoppable recs if you want to incorporate her style, which I could tentatively describe as “Terabithian-chic,” into your closet.

Okay, we are not starting out on the Terabithian end of things here. This is the dress that made me want to write this post. I mean, it’s deeply insane, a headline waiting to happen, but Remy makes it work by keeping EVERYTHING ELSE completely insouciant: not a clutch or pearl in sight (though there might be some pearl-clutching by onlookers), undyed roots in an everyday center part, and barely-there sandals mean that this dress is allowed to function as a provocative, jaw-dropping sculpture and doesn’t feel downright stressful. We know she borrowed it from Bad Showroom, but sadly, can’t figure out the brand—any ideas?
Remy thinks Empath LA is a great spot for off-kilter basics, and this charmed cutout tank, especially with its halter neck, felt akin to the dress above.
I immediately thought of this oldie Puppets & Puppets number, which had been on sale for so long that I wasn’t surprised to see it finally met its maker. I simply was not tall enough to make this one work, but I would have 100% styled Remy in it for a more casual take on the hip-teasing column dress.
A babydoll frock is an underrepresented essential from the early aughts, and this one reminded me SO much of…
…this number by Ramp Tramp Tramp Stamp, one of my favorite queer, size-inclusive, generally incredible Aussie brands. Of course, this one (which I coveted last summer) is sold out too, but luckily…
…this vampy oxblood iteration feels like it would fit right into Remy’s wardrobe with a pair of tights that look like stained glass (the closest I could find was this syncretic pair sold out at Hot Topic).
To me, this fit looks precisely like how Bridge to Terabithia’s Leslie would have dressed if she hadn’t bit the dust at age eight or whatever. I somehow had it in my mind that the character wore this exact look, green short-sleeved cardigan, arm warmers, scarf, and all. Please tell me someone sees the vision:

I am so in love with this slightly warped henley—I just know it’s thick and hardy. Somehow it makes sense to me with the prippie-on-the-playground vibes congealing around this concept. My brain might be broken at this point, but this all makes perfect sense to me.
I am SO sad to hear Renmei is shuttering and I wish I had the funds to grab this piece of fashion history, which I can see Remy pulling off with cheeky aplomb.
Another Empath LA pick that makes sense to me with the above look in place of a wintry beanie. Would look cool with a black tank top at a festival, even.
I don’t know what pointed me back to my dear Gui Rosa when I looked at Remy’s wardrobe, but these colors do make sense in the context of the Terabithia look, so I’m including it here. Remy is also frequently wearing sharp-as-a-knife kitten heels, and I think these would look perfect with nearly any black or white iteration.
The star of the show here is the skirt, which screams Marithé + François Girbaud/Cop Copine to me with its ragged flare and zipper detailing. Before we look at some options, though, I wanted to share this set (it comes with the scarf) that feels like a perfect melding of the look above and the previous Terabithian togs. The subtly colorful stripes imbue the sturdy brown set with the exact right quantity of delight.
Here are a few perfect skirt-only options, but as you know if you’ve read this blog for any length of time, this particular well runs deep:
I believe these thigh-high socks are the now-sold-out work of Greta Garmel, a brand I have adored for years for its unique perspective, the fact that it’s LA-based, the amazing quality standard it seems to hold its products to, and its size-inclusive range. I have wanted this damn dress for so long that I actually just kind of got scared because I realized it could easily go the way of the socks and sell out, so it might have to be my next purchase. Anyway, though the red socks are no more, these demur white ones would suit Remy’s pointy, metal-toed pumps just as well:
As would these tie-ups by the seemingly now slightly-defunct Catherine Boddy (the brand’s website is down, but it’s still sparsely stocked in a few stores and the IG is active).
I could absolutely see Remy in this dress—her deadpan delivery in her Tiktoks makes me think she’d be a great candidate to wear red + green without falling into the Christmas Spirit trap. A sense of wryness (note: NOT irony) is essential with this color combo.
A huge, thick silver heart necklace is one of the only jewelry accessories Remy shared with me, and my mind went straight to this Mondo Mondo piece, but…
…plenty of sub-$50 options in real silver lurk around the internet.
Remy is the master of a pinstripe, paired here with what I believe are Nike Shox, a shoe I’ve wanted for years and still can’t tell if I’d love or loathe comfort-wise (opinions appreciated):
Here are two quirked-up pinstripe skirt sets, though it seems that Remy likes wearing the jackets on their own. I feel like the Remy move if you wanted to wear the full set would be to crop the skirt until it just barely showed under the jacket and leave the hem raw for that Copine/Girbaud flavor. Look for a jacket that nips in at the waist and curves a bit at the arms for maximum sculptural flair.
This take on a Canadian Tuxedo might be my favorite I’ve seen, and would pair perfectly with the white ribbon socks from above.
Finally, one more Greta Garmel number for the road that I feel would be a hit with Remy as a one-and-done full outfit she’d pair with some simple, strappy sandals and very little else.

Remy’s style, for instance, feels like embodied mythmaking — an intuitive escape from the rational spreadsheet of adulthood. It’s not just aesthetic; it’s narrative agency. Same with Korine’s “Baby Invasion” — it’s not a story, it’s an atmosphere. You don’t watch it, you wade through it.
I'm so glad you got it too! The fabric is really nice. I have a thing for cupro and it's especially good in this case.
