Hi!
I often think about this line from one of my favorite films, Hiroshima, Mon Amour:
I actually made a playlist with that line as the title and theme almost exactly four years ago, while falling in love for the first time and feeling already doomed.
In the film’s (and my) spirit of heartbreak, ennui, regret, and the kernel of pure love that resides in all, today’s bonus post is a little playlist of songs I love, from Björk to Weyes Blood, each paired with a very, very special look based on the lyrics, music, aura, or je ne sais quoi of the song.
Enjoy, and if you’re interested in receiving a minimum of two bonus posts per month, sign up below or HERE is a link to subsidized subs for two or less bucks a month! Feel free to respond to this email if you aren’t able to afford the two dollars and I will comp you a month’s subscription.
THANK YOU for being here, and I am always available @humanrepeller on Instagram for sartorial scandals/situations/summons. Here is a little preview of what’s below the paywall:
Beef Jerky by Cibo Matto
This song is saucy, nipple-pinchingly cheeky, meaty, spicy, dark-edged. It has notes of Twin Peaks’ Red Room energy but also the music of a clown car. This is a look for having TRUE fun.
